Have you ever received a phone call and wonder who it is that’s calling? Have someone’s phone number but do not know there address and need to mail them something? There are many different uses for the reverse mobile phone directory searches available over the internet. The key is knowing what these searches can and can’t provide. It is also important to know if the number that you are searching is either a mobile phone number or a land line.

Each year around the holiday season as I am preparing to send out the holiday cards, it always seems that I am missing someone’s address. Luckily, I keep all my contacts home and mobile phone numbers programmed in my mobile phone. Having this information allows me to take the home phone number of each contact and use the reverse phone lookup search to find their address. Another advantage to performing this search is that it usually identifies all the adults living at that address. This helps because many times you may know the husband or wife individually but if you are sending mail to the individual and family, the search will provide the family members names so they can be properly addressed.

There are many different providers for reverse phone lookups now available over the internet. The key is identifying which results you can find for free and which ones you will have to pay for. For most land line reverse lookups you can readily use free searches to determine who is calling or their address. There is however examples of numbers that you may not be able to determine who it is calling from a land line by using the free searches. Many times individuals have their number unlisted or restricted to block this information from being available to caller ID’s and so they are not listed in the phone book. While these results may not be available by using a free search, you may be able to obtain the information by paying a small fee.

Reverse look up options for mobile phones are usually more limited than for land lines. In my experience, I have found it very rare that a reverse look up on a mobile phone will provide an individual’s name and address for free. Most if not all mobile reverse phone lookups will require the person performing the search to pay a fee for the results. These results are often more limited as well in regards to the information they provide in return. While most land lines searches will provide name and address the number is associated with the search, mobile phone results are usually limited only to the name the phone is registered to.

The reverse phone lookup search is a valuable tool that can provide the user with the identity of the owner of the phone number searched, but has its limitations. Another limitation is that some cell phones are pre-paid or disposable phones. These phones will not have information available via reverse phone lookup searches. Finally, it is recommended that you use the free searches first available for land lines before paying a fee to get the information you need.
